Our Truck Dealership client based in Durban is looking to employ an EE Female Accountant. Salary market related - Car allowance + fuel allowance, + Provident Fund, & Medical Aid fund JOB REQUIREMENTS The ideal applicant will possess the following:- - BComm degree, majoring in Financial Accounting minimum, a prerequisite. - Completed articles with a reputable accounting firm, a prerequisite. - Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in an Accounting department / environment. - 2 years’ experience in a management position, an added advantage. JOB OUTPUTS: - Supervision of Finance staff/associated responsibilities. - Preparation and processing of month end and year end journals. - Check, verify and ensure correctness of Trial balance/General ledger (journals, corrections, provisions, accruals), before month and year-ends. - Preparation and review of monthly General Ledger reconciliations before submission for approval. - Monitor and control Accounts Payable function (Capturing invoices, preparing reconciliations and payments). - Check and review monthly cashbook. - Oversee the credit control function eg. Collection of outstanding debtors (internal and external). - Compilation of monthly fuel reports. - Assist with the drafting of Policies and procedures, and compliance thereto. - Completion of monthly VAT computation and compilation of supporting documents for submission to Head office. - Liaison/Correspondence with Senior Management, Business Unit Departments, Head Office, Internal and external auditors, Debtors, Creditors, Outsourced service providers, Banks. - Conduct regular internal audits of Finance and Other departments. - Conduct audits of Stock-takes. - Conduct asset verification spot checks and generate reports. - Maintain fixed asset register (additions and disposals) - Compile and analyse accounting trends and prepare statistical variances reports. - Prepare quarterly submission for CNH Business Analysis - Assistance with monthly Management account packs/Financial reports compilation. - Assist with preparation of annual budgets. - Assist with annual external audit. - Other ad hoc duties as required by Senior Management - Deputise for Accounting Manager in his/her COMPETENCIES: KNOWLEDGE - Knowledge of the Transport Industry - Knowledge of GAAP, GRAP, IFRS, Accounting and Auditing principles and practices - Knowledge of Human Resources, and Industrial Relations practices and procedures/related legislation SKILLS - Analytical thinking & problem solving skills. - Excellent planning and organising skills. - Ability to present and display sound judgement. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Good report writing skills - Excellent time management skills. - Computer skills (MS Excel Intermediate/Advanced, Word, PowerPoint, Financial systems.)
