IT Field Technician

We are looking for an IT Field Technician to join our Technical Support Team. As a IT Field Technician, your role is to diagnose and resolve all the issues our customers are facing and provide them solutions as early as possible. Onsite Technical support and technical assistance are the two major responsibilities that you are expected to carry out in this role.

You are responsible for providing the best customer service to our clients in the best possible way. You will have to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues and fix the problems in their computer systems and mobile devices.

You should be well-versed with the knowledge of all technical procedures to be successful in this role. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills are the key requirements for this role.

  • Responsibilities including but not limited to

Understand the nature of the issues the customer is facing and provide adequate solutions for the same.

Respond to customer queries and complaints.

Report difficult or complex issues to the Help Desk Manager. Try finding a feasible solution as soon as possible.

Provide excellent customer service to the clients.

Follow up with the customers on a regular basis.

Maintain the record of common issues related to customer complaints and report them to higher management.

Determine potential issues and get them resolved beforehand.

Suggest improvements in the existing procedures.

Ensure that all the issues are resolved on time.

Keep network diagrams and documentations up to date.

  • Requirements

CompTIA A+ and Network+(MCITP/MCSE is a bonus)

Experience with deploying and maintaining servers, generally Windows server, maintaning and fixing (DHCP, DNS, AD)

Experience and knowledge in VLANNING, creating and managing.

Experience with Office 36,5 (Microsoft certifications are a bonus)

Experience as an IT Field Technician or relevant role (1/2years).

Hands-on experience in resolving technical issues, will be involved in attending to contract support clients onsite if required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities

CCTV (Hikvision/Dahua) Knowledge necessary

Experience with IP PBX systems, 3CX preferably.

Must have a license and own transport at least to the office.

Must have some experience with Firewall(FortiGate, Mikrotik, etc).

Must be willing to learn. Needs to be able to work late if problems arise.

Needs to be presentable.

Must have a driver’s license.

Hust have excellent paperwork skills

Must have good time management

Must be able to do cabling if necessary. This will be taught including fiber splicing

License/Certification:

  • CompTIA Network+ (required)
  • CompTIA A+ (required)

Salary : R10 000,00 - R13 000,00 per month
