Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Somerset West. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring that all departments deliver exceptional service while maximizing profitability. Experience with the use of Semper is essential for effectively managing hotel operations and guest services. Key Responsibilities: • Guest Experience: Ensure consistently high levels of guest service across all departments, fostering a welcoming and professional environment that exceeds guest expectations. • Operational Oversight: Manage hotel operations, including quality standards, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction, ensuring smooth daily function across all areas. • Profit Optimization: Work with department heads to maximize financial opportunities, control costs, and achieve business objectives. • Leadership: Lead and motivate departmental heads to ensure excellent service delivery and operational efficiency. Deputize for the General Manager when necessary. • SOP Implementation: Ensure consistent implementation and regular review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all departments. • Problem Solving: Handle guest queries, complaints, and operational issues quickly and professionally, ensuring immediate resolution to maintain satisfaction. • Collaboration: Collaborate with the General Manager and other key staff to forecast hotel business, ensuring resources are managed effectively for peak periods. • Compliance: Conduct regular Health & Safety audits, fire walks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. • Employee Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture through effective communication, team meetings, and recognition programs. • Duty Management: Perform regular Duty Manager shifts and oversee hotel operations during these times. Qualifications & Skills Required: • Experience: Proven experience in hotel operations management or similar leadership roles, preferably within a 5-star establishment of at least 5 years. • Semper Proficiency: Must have experience using Semper hotel management software to effectively manage daily operations and guest services. • Leadership: Strong people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams to deliver excellent service. • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards. • Problem Solver: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges. • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, with the ability to drive profitability and manage budgets effectively. • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
