Compliance Officer Position

A fund management company based in Stellenbosch, with two funds under their stewardship, is looking for a Compliance Officer to join their team to help ensure compliance within the company.

As a Compliance Officer, you will be staying ahead of regulations globally, establishing robust controls and procedures for compliance across all jurisdictions. Supporting corporate governance and refining policies, you will ensure integrity across our group and subsidiaries. From tailored reporting to aiding B-BBEE implementation, navigate complexities with precision and dedication, ensuring regulatory excellence in every facet of your operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Financial Forecasting and Analysis:
  • Remaining abreast of regulatory updates and guaranteeing adherence to applicable laws, entailing the establishment of controls and procedures across all jurisdictions where the group conducts operations.
  • Supporting the Compliance Officer and Business Integrity Manager in overseeing corporate governance across the group and its investee firms.
  • In charge of submitting regulatory documents and producing reports tailored to investors' needs.
  • Creating and refining company policies and procedures.
  • B-BBEE compliance:
  • Aiding the Compliance Officer in gathering pertinent information.
  • Helping with the implementation of the B-BBEE plan.
  • Implementing the B-BBEE plan, which involves supporting the B-BBEE audit process.
  • AML/KYC/FICA compliance:
  • Addressing Know Your Customer (KYC) inquiries from third parties, including investee companies, suppliers, advisors, consultants, and others.
  • Performing due diligence evaluations on prospective clients and continuously monitoring new and current clients, spanning across South Africa and Mauritius.
  • FSCA Compliance:
  • Helping the Compliance Officer oversee adherence to FSCA regulations for a Category I and II Financial Services Provider (FSP).
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • BCom / LLB degree is essential.
  • 3 - 6 years of experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with pertinent legislation's technical aspects.
Package & Remuneration

R25 000 - R35 000 / month
