About the Role As a Cyber Security Architect at Capitec, you will be key in designing and implementing advanced security solutions that protect our systems and data from ever-evolving cyber threats. With your expertise, you’ll evaluate current architectures, identify vulnerabilities, and implement robust defenses, particularly in multi-cloud environments. You will also be responsible for ensuring our systems are compliant with industry standards and resilient to cyberattacks. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security solutions to address current and emerging threats.
• Assess and improve existing security architectures.
• Fortify security frameworks, particularly for large-scale enterprises in multi-cloud environments.
• Formulate and document security policies, standards, and guidelines (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, POPIA).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Experience:
  • 5+ years in any cybersecurity role.
  • 3+ years specifically in cybersecurity architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure and security tools.
  • Experience working in DevOps environments.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing security frameworks.
  • Expertise in one or more security domains (IAM, Network Security, Endpoint Security, Application Security, Data Security, Cloud Security, GRC).
  • Proven experience in scripting and automation.
• Skills:
  • Solution architecture (Infrastructure, Application, Data, Security).
  • Ability to assess security architectures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong leadership and ability to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate security concepts across various stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to stay updated on the latest security trends and threats.

Education & Certifications:

• Required:
  • BSc in Computer Science.
  • AWS certification as a Solutions Architect or at the associate level.
• Ideal:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • Knowledge of Python, Terraform, PowerShell.
