The Opportunity

This position works out of our Johannesburg location in the Abbott Diagnostics Division. In this division we’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

What You’ll Do

  • Receipting and reconciling of payments received on the bank statement.
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Maintain relationship with customers to ensure that complaints and queries are analyzed and resolved promptly.
  • Maintains close links with all clients, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of payments.
  • Monthly/Weekly AR reporting sent to the territory leaders and meetings held.
  • Processing of receipts, refunds, allocations, journals and adjustments
  • Clearing unallocated GL account
  • Proactively monitoring of credit limits and advising sales teams
  • Calculating and submitting BDR for month end reporting
  • Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs
  • Preparing weekly and monthly feedback reports on payment collections
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forecasting reports.

Required Qualifications

  • A national diploma or bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in collections.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multinational experience preferably in healthcare sector.
  • Africa collections experience will be advantageous.
  • The ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An eye for detail along with excellent analytical skills.
