Brief Description of the Vacancy: We are seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our expanding Corporate and Wedding department in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a successful background and broad experience in the corporate and wedding sector. Responsibilities include sourcing and securing new clients, maintaining current client relationships, managing budgets, and overseeing event operations. In-office Responsibilities: Investigate, source, and maintain new and existing work. Plan and budget operations for future events. Order relevant stock and equipment. Liaise directly with clients to meet their needs. Onsite Responsibilities: Collaborate with your team to ensure efficient operations. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure. Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bar/event operations. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the event or hospitality sales sector. Experience managing small to large budgets. Valid driving license and reliable transportation. Excellent command of English (reading, writing, speaking). Attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and general computer literacy. Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various departments and stakeholders. Ability to work and stay calm under pressure. Willingness to stay and work onsite at or near event locations, including outside regular working hours (adequate accommodation will be provided). Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Hospitality fields. Key Responsibilities: Source and secure new clients and maintain relationships with current clients. Manage budgets and plan operations for upcoming events. Investigate and source new opportunities while maintaining ongoing work. Order relevant stock and equipment for events. Directly liaise with clients to understand and fulfill their event needs. Oversee the efficiency of operations onsite, working with a team of staff. Ensure smooth and successful event execution, maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
