Purpose Statement: As a Digital Communications Manager at Capitec Bank, you will be responsible for ensuring that all internal and external digital communications align seamlessly with our strategic objectives. You will formulate, implement, and manage comprehensive plans and activities that support our business goals and drive marketing objectives. This role involves leading and developing the Digital Communications team to effectively complement and enhance the bank's overall strategy. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement digital communication strategies that align with Capitec Bank's business objectives.
  • Oversee the management of corporate websites and social media profiles, ensuring consistent brand messaging.
  • Lead and manage the Digital Communications team, driving complex projects and ensuring effective coordination.
  • Collaborate with UX teams to integrate user experience insights into communication strategies.
  • Utilize analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital communications and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Manage online communities and engage with stakeholders through digital channels.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure all digital communications support and enhance the bank's strategic goals.
Experience:
  • 8-10 years’ experience in advertising, communications, or marketing, preferably in a high-pressure environment.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in social media, brand, or digital communication strategy.
  • 5-8 years’ experience managing a team and complex projects.
  • Experience working with UX and consumer insight is desirable.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational; a relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications.
  • Ideal: Postgraduate studies in Marketing or Communications.
Knowledge:
  • Minimum:
    • Basics of web applications, coding, and web CMS systems.
    • Integrated social and digital communications industry and marketing.
    • Messaging through digital and multimedia channels.
    • Online community management.
    • Social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
    • Management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Conversocial).
  • Ideal:
    • Management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Conversocial).
    • The financial landscape.
    • Media/PR communications industry.
    • Differences between communication and marketing in messaging.
    • Capitec Bank operations and Head Office departments.
