The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented National Sales Manager to lead our day-to-day sales operations across stores, kiosks and partnership sites nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving sales growth, managing store/kiosk teams and developing strategies to drive revenue and enhance customer engagement.

The National Sales Manager will ensure cross-functional operational initiatives between internal stakeholders and also manage and strengthen the relationship with outsourced partnerships ensuring alignment of objectives and operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company targets and objectives.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Coordinate with marketing and product teams to develop promotional strategies and product launches.
  • Implement digital sales initiatives to leverage eCommerce capabilities and drive sales growth.
  • Oversee the implementation of the national retail growth strategy to expand market presence and achieve business objectives.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage team leaders for retail stores and kiosks to ensure high performance.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and career progression.
  • Model company values in all actions, communication, and decision-making.
  • Provide clear direction and decisive leadership to direct reports, ensuring alignment with goals and clarity of purpose.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and collaboration.
  • Maintain high employee retention and engagement levels.

Performance Management:

  • Set sales targets and KPIs for the sales team and monitor performance against these goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Use data analytics to assess sales performance, ensure budget targets are met, and maximise revenue flows.
  • Recognise and reward high-performing team members to promote motivation and retention.

Store and Kiosk Management:

  • Oversee the operational management of all stores and kiosks to ensure consistency and excellence in customer service.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to optimise inventory levels, merchandising, and promotional activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular store and kiosk visits to assess operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure inventory management and reporting, at national and individual store level verifying stock levels as per the standard operating procedures.

Relationship Management:

  • Manage and strengthen the relationship between Rentoza and outsourced partners, ensuring alignment of objectives and operations.
  • Work closely with outsourced partners to coordinate staffing, training, and performance management in stores and kiosks.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with outsourced partners to ensure optimal resource allocation and performance.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels between Rentoza and outsourced partners to address any operational issues.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Address customer concerns and feedback promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with Marketing to implement relevant marketing plans to drive business growth and ensure sustainable performance.
  • Provide insights and solutions to customer support issues, addressing problems such as profit decline or loss of business to competitors.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the optimal customer solutions and options to meet customer requirements at the best cost.

Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Develop and manage sales budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Analyse financial data to assess sales performance, ensure budget targets are met, and make informed business decisions.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability without compromising quality or service.

Technology and Data Analytics:

  • Stay informed on the latest technological advancements and industry trends in eCommerce and retail.
  • Utilise data analytics tools to track performance metrics and identify sales patterns.
  • Develop data-driven strategies to optimise sales processes and improve decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of data literacy within the sales team, encouraging the use of analytics for strategic planning.
  • Explore, test, and implement technology to enhance efficiencies across business operations.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and company SOPs.
  • Implement and maintain procedures to protect customer data and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to legal and operational standards.
  • Provide training and support to team leaders to ensure understanding and compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.

Operations:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for day-to-day operations by effectively managing partners from other departments.
  • Develop and implement training materials with Team Leaders to support business expansion initiatives and new employee onboarding.
  • Develop, review, and implement all store and individual KPIs, tracking these with appropriate commission or incentive models.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is a strict minimum requirement for this role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior sales management role, preferably in retail.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing third-party partnerships or vendor relationships, particularly in a retail context.
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for data analytics and a strong ability to work with analytics tools.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, analytics tools, and Google suite.
  • Extensive travel nationally.
