About the role The Off-Grid Solar Sales Manager will lead a team of sales representatives to drive revenue growth and market expansion in the off-grid solar sector. This individual will develop and execute sales strategies, coach and mentor the sales team, build strong customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and contribute to the company's success in the renewable energy market. To be successful as a sales Manager, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities 1. Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share in the off-grid solar industry. 2. Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to effectively prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close sales with customers interested in off-grid solar solutions. 3. Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to sales representatives to enhance their selling skills, product knowledge, and understanding of customer needs. 4. Set clear performance expectations, goals, and KPIs for the sales team and monitor their performance regularly to ensure alignment with business objectives. 5. Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales initiatives with company objectives and ensure seamless execution of sold projects. 6. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and strategic accounts, to expand the company's presence and customer base in the off-grid solar market. 7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry partners to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide value-added solutions. 8. Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies, identify emerging opportunities, and maintain a competitive edge. Candidate requirements Education: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field. • Matric Experience: • At least 3 - 4 years’ experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in selling off-grid solar solutions. • Proven track record of meeting sales targets. • Previous experience in a sales management or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team. • Strong understanding of off-grid solar technologies, including solar PV systems, battery storage, inverters, and energy management solutions Additional Considerations • Must have own transport. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Professional, self-motivated and target driven. • Ability to travel within and/or outside of South Africa. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales plans in alignment with company goals and market dynamics. • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and sales analytics tools for tracking performance and analysing sales data. • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support the sales team in various locations.
