The role
We are currently seeking a talented Senior Engineer – Bridges & Structures to work closely with our other specialists in our South African offices - Cape Town, Pretoria or Durban. Your primary focus will be to provide technical input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across transport infrastructure projects in collaboration with the wider national business.
With a minimum of 8+ years’ experience delivering on major infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in:
- Ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
- Collaborating with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.
- Contributing to the commercial success of projects and the team.
- Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Tertiary qualification / Engineering degree.
- Certified Professional Engineer or on their way to attaining.
- 8+ years of industry experience in civil/structural design.
- Structural design experience across Bridge structure projects.
- Proven detailed design skills across multiple projects.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
