Mediclinic is an international private healthcare services group, founded in South Africa in 1983, with divisions in Switzerland, Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia) and the United Arab Emirates.The Group is focused on providing specialist-orientated, multidisciplinary services across the continuum of care in such a way that the Group will be regarded as the most respected and trusted provider of healthcare services by patients, medical practitioners, funders and regulators of healthcare in each of its markets.MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo support a comprehensive, professional and integrated care expert service to patients in collaboration with the internal and external healthcare teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASDrive patient clinical efficiency in collaboration with the Clinical and nursing team prior to admission, during hospitalisation and post discharge.Support an integrated healthcare service by liaising and coordinating services with clinician offices and external healthcare providers.Fulfil a patient liaison role throughout the delivery of the Care Expert product.Utilise data analytics and reporting to monitor patient outcomes, operational efficiency and clinical governance.Drive a culture of improvement, quality and cost efficiency.Ensure effective communication and empowerment around value-based care within the units.Required EducationDegree / Diploma in General NursingorB-degree in ancillary servicesRequired Experience5 years' experience in a senior nursing role (e.g. Shift Leader, SPN), within a private acute healthcare settingorHospital-based ancillary service provider (e.g. Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, etc.)Required Job Skills And KnowledgePharmacology, including Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardships.Clinical information capturing and data analytics.Cost per event management.Nursing care within an acute-care setting.Evidence-based practice and guidelines.Computer literacy (MS Office).Risk identification and supporting protocols, e.g. IPC.Clinical pathways.
