Signage Technician

We require the services of an experienced Signage Technician. Essential: A drivers License and experience and understanding of correct application methods and handling procedures for vinyl films and sheeting. No applications considered without prior experience. Must be able to use of all electrical and manual tools required to complete any of the tasks required to compete a job. No fear of heights. Must have own transport to and from work. Applicant will use company vehicle during office hours. Accuracy, neatness and teamplayer essential for firming up employment at our small but busy signage company. Knowledge needed for the role: • Various application techniques of signage application (essential) • Awareness of health and safety; • No fear of heights • Ability to keep up to date with new skills and techniques; Duties: • Prepare surfaces (‘substrates’) before applying vinyl; • Apply vinyl sheets to a variety of surfaces, which typically include rigid plastics and vehicle bodies; • Use different application techniques depending on the job – ‘wet’ for transparent surfaces such as glass and acrylic sheet where graphics are seen from both sides, ‘dry’ for other surfaces; • Remove vinyl films from surfaces; • Wrap a vehicle in full colour; • Troubleshoot all sticker, Posters and backlight issues; • Make recommendations about Branding Materials; • Use Technical/manual skills to ensure efficient completion of any job he does; • Ensure that any employee whom he works with completes his responsibilities to the best of his abilities and uses the same decorum as his supervisor when carrying out these responsibilities; • Erect any frames, stands, clamps, or any other body of material required to stabilize any form of signage required for a job. • Remove any frames, stands, clamps, or any other body of material that stabilizes any form of signage as required for a job. • Any other duties that may prevail with this job description that are not covered forehand.
