Job Description

Excellent opportunity for a tax professional to join a medium size audit firm in Stellenbosch. The candidate must have the ability to attend to all tax compliance matters in the firm.

The candidate should have strong tax experience with a few years’ experience in a similar role and must be a registered Tax Practitioner.

This firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors offers a variety of services with the aim of continuously looking for cost-effective, value added solutions to our clients’ business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tax Administration and dispute resolution including but not limited to timeous submission of tax returns, provisional tax returns, lodging of disputes, requests for reasons, penalty waivers, dividends taxes, etc.
  • Tax calculations and reconciliations.
  • Budget management in respect of client engagements.
  • Prepare proposal documents/ letters of engagement.
  • Assist with department budgets.
  • Review of work.
  • Recommend billings amount and timings.
  • Role model the organizational culture and instill culture in others.
  • Assist with performance management.
  • On-the-job training, coaching, and guiding.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Grow client portfolio.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff members (where required).
  • Research.
  • Consulting and tax advice.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Tax Practitioner.
  • Degree or diploma in finance.
  • Other relevant tax qualifications.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Computer literate – proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with audit software – able to navigate through and use Caseware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.

Remuneration:

  • R420,000 to R480,000 pa, depending on experience.
