This exciting opportunity is available within the Santam Direct Call Centre for a Personal Lines Underwriting Consultant. The successful incumbent will be based at the office in Bellville, Tygervalley.

This role will ensure profitable growth through applying proven underwriting principles. Utilise available resources to improve or implement new underwriting practices on claimants. The successful incumbent will get involved with referral underwriting decisions and has to be knowledgeable and experienced to provide Insurance Consultants and clients with creative and innovative solutions.

• Underwriting of new and existing risks to obtain profitable growth.
• Handling referrals and the underwriting thereof.
• Provision of technical underwriting advice.
• Conduct policy screenings and manage portfolios in accordance with company policy.

• Grade 12
• FAIS Compliant
• RE Certificate
• Minimum 5 years underwriting experience with regards to Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Underwriting
• Compliance with FAIS Fit & Proper criteria i.e. minimum experience and competency requirements

• Thorough knowledge of Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Insurance
• Relevant systems knowledge – Persetel/ Call centre applications/ Policy Center
