We are urgently looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the North Coast of KZN in Richards Bay. The ideal candidate must meet the set criteria below: Responsibilities • Oversee daily mechanical workshop operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. • Lead and manage a team of mechanics, technicians, and other workshop staff. • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of team members. • Develop and manage work schedules, assigning tasks to staff based on their skills and workload. • Plan and coordinate mechanical workshop activities to meet production goals and deadlines. • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Implement and maintain quality control procedures and protocols. • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets industry standards and customer requirements. • Enforce health and safety regulations within the mechanical workshop. • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards. • Ensure all staff use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). • Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and tools. • Ensure all machinery and equipment are in good working condition and properly maintained. • Schedule regular maintenance and promptly address any repairs to minimize downtime. • Manage inventory of mechanical parts, materials, tools, and supplies. • Order new supplies as needed and maintain accurate inventory records. • Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of materials. • Maintain accurate records of mechanical work performed, materials used, and staff hours. • Track and analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement. • Monitor expenses, control costs, and work within budget constraints. • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements. • Liaise with clients and customers to understand their mechanical needs and provide updates on work progress. • Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. • Ensure high-quality service delivery to meet or exceed customer expectations. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in mechanical work. • Provide technical support and guidance to the workshop team, troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues. Requirements · + 8 years’ work experience in a workshop environment with +3 years supervisory experience · Sound knowledge in workshop and logistics · Degree / Diploma in Diesel Mechanic or any relevant Qualification · Strong computer skills · Mechanical knowledge · Traceable references · Drivers licence KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
